 Whimsy!Little chic prints are all the rage right now. I can only describe them as whimsical...
it's all the little detail that makes them interesting and memorable.
There
is a certain little capriciousness that really stands out. I am
reminded of some of the illustrations in children's books, like
Madeline, for example. Fabric artists, like book illustrators, give us
the gifts of their imaginations.
This week, I have collected a few of my new favorites

Eco Chic Shopping Bag Pattern
With
any order placed I will send you a free pattern for this very nice and
practical reusable shopping bag. Make a bag using any fabric you
purchase from me and email me a few pics. I want to have a picture
parade of shopping bags made by my customers for a future newsletter.

I
have been impressed to find that just about every grocery store has a
stack of reusable shopping bags for sale. Last week I was at the Ben
Franklin Craft store near my home and found a very nice free pattern
for a fabulous looking grocery store shopping bag. I like the size and
shape and it's super easy to make. It can be made out of vinyl, lined
with cotton, or made with a double layer of any cotton. It's wipeable,
washable, and easy to use. Best of all, you can choose your own
fabrics and favorite colors to personalize your bag. I am going to
include a copy of the pattern with each fabric order placed for the
next several weeks. Take a few pics of your completed bag using
AllegroFabrics and I will host a picture parade of bags in July.I have
lots of fabrics that would work well...especially the ones with fruit
and veggies!
Fabric requirements: 5/8 yard outer fabric and 5/8 yard lining fabric, and 7/8 yard webbing for handles.
Finished size is about 15" wide X 5.5" deep X 18" high.

Fabrics designed by Heather Bailey for Free Spirit. This print was so
easy to applique on the shirt...and I love how this skirt turned out.
No matter how you combine these two fabric groups, you just can't go
wrong!

have this beautiful Pop Garden paisley fabric in yellow (as seen in the
skirt above) ivory, lime green, and turquoise. Trim and ruffle fabrics
are part of the matching Bijoux collection...many colors are available.

Whelan has created a wonderful soft pastel color palatte of beautiful
fabrics called French Hat Box. Her vintage roses and coordinate
prints are perfect for home dec projects and clothing. I love the triple roses in this
print...and the stripe... The polka dots come in several different color ways, as do these rose bouquets.Isn't French Hat Box the perfect name for this collection? I think this my favorite print!Visit AllegroFabrics for

Fall fabrics are arriving everyday in the AllegroFabrics Studio. There
are some very interesting new themes as well as few that continue to go
strong through all the seasons. Those little birds and owls are
leading the show into Fall. Michael Miller has a very sweet little
print called Night Owl with a chocolate brown background. Alexander
Henry has a wonderful collection called Thunder Flower with an Anime
twist to it. Deers are the newest animal to make the fabric print
scene this Fall. Jay McCarroll has a wide eyed deer in funky colors as
part of his collection called Woodland Wonderland. Michael Miller has
a few colorful Pet Deer and Joel Dewberry just launched his Deer Valley
collection. Animal prints are making a statement as well. Jennifer
Paganelli has zebra prints (not just black and white!) that are selling
